  • volume-quota (binding) 20 GB mailbox and 5 GB cloud storage on Premium source
  • per-object-cap 50 MB of attachments per message on Premium source
Bindingvolume-quota the 20 GB Premium mailbox binds: when it is full, new mail is refused; no hourly or daily sending cap is published, so whether one binds sooner is unverified.
Identitycard signup asks for a last name, a first name and a date of birth, all compulsory, a gender, a security question or rescue email address, and a computed proof-of-work check, with no phone field; accounts are for ages 13 and above. A subscription is paid online by bank card or PayPal, or by a surcharged phone call billed by the caller's telephone operator, which buys or renews Premium for 2 months according to the usage conditions page and for 1 month according to the subscriptions page; the 4-month Discovery offer costs a single payment of EUR 6. The numbers and networks that call needs are not published on the captured pages.
Egressnot applicable: a mailbox; unverified: no hourly or daily sending cap is published on the captured pages
Per-object cap50 MB of attachments per message on Premium, 25 MB on Free; larger files are sent as download links, up to 1 GB on Premium and 500 MB on Free
Retentiona 20 GB mailbox on Premium; a full mailbox refuses new mail; a Premium account is never deleted for inactivity, a Free account after 365 days without access
Interfaceunknown, webdav IMAP at mail.mailo.com (993, SSL/TLS; 143 answers with an IMAP4rev1 banner offering STARTTLS) and SMTP at mail.mailo.com (465, SSL/TLS; 587 also answers); POP3 on subscribed accounts only; ActiveSync; CalDAV, CardDAV and WebDAV
Toolingany IMAP or SMTP client, with the full address as username; application passwords are supported
Composes witha domain registered elsewhere is declared in a Mailo space free of charge, with its DNS records changed at the registrar, or a domain is bought at Mailo from EUR 15 per year with tax; a single mailbox on that domain then takes the Premium offer.
Reliabilitya full mailbox refuses new mail and the sender receives a non-delivery notice
NotesNo free custom-domain mailbox: Mailo Free has IMAP but no custom domain. Premium is €1.50 per month for one mailbox; per mailbox, Family at €3 per month for up to 5 Premium accounts costs less.
Evidence notedocumented plans and prices read from the vendor pages; mail.mailo.com:143 answered with an IMAP4rev1 banner and mail.mailo.com:587 with an ESMTP banner; no login or send was made
